“Hanoi – 5 Gates” Tourist Train: A Journey into the Past for Vietnam’s National Day
On September 2nd, Vietnam’s National Day, a unique new tourist attraction debuts: the “Hanoi – 5 Gates” train, inspired by the remnants of the ancient Thăng Long Citadel. Each of the five carriages is named after a historic gate – O Cau Den, O Quan Chuong, O Cau Giay, O Cho Dua, and O Dong Mac – reflecting the capital’s millennial identity and the traditions of the Red River Delta.

A Journey Through Time
The train consists of five double-decker carriages, each offering 40 to 60 seats, along with two carriages specially designed for photos and “check-in” moments. The interior, elegant and themed differently in each carriage, immerses passengers in an atmosphere that is both stylish and nostalgic. Large windows allow for unobstructed views of the cityscape and surrounding countryside.

Schedule and Route
Starting from September 2025, the train will operate three times a day – at 8:00, 14:00, and 20:30 – departing from Hanoi Central Station. The route passes through Long Bien, Gia Lam, Yen Vien, and Tu Son, before returning to the starting point.
